Good Bye 2009!!!

Today is the last day of 2009. Flashing back, what have I actually accomplished in this year?

1. I got married to my dearest hubby, Lim Chai Seng
2. I have travelled to several places: Taiwan, Macau, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Bangkok and Phnom Penh.
3. I failed to get promoted.
4. I did not manage to take my parents for travelling
5. I had a slight change in my job, to a higher profile project, even a small role
6. I am still a ******
7. I owed my boss 3 journal papers which 1 partially done, 1 in progress, 1 in my mind....
8. My house has not been renovated.
9. I have a new niece. Gisane
10. I had a wonderful bacherlorette night with Yen and Yvonne

I have pretty much do lots of things for myself this year but not to my career. Always thinking I must achieved higher position and got myself job satisfaction but still I am here. No promotion, no changing job.

Somehow, I should stay more relax... never be too pushy to for perfomance. As long as I did my job right, time will comes.

Having in-law means that I could not go home for Chinese New Year.... well... this is tradition isnt it? I'll miss my family and friends...... Earn Earn and Yang Yang.... my dearly nephews.

Ahem... I am kinda looking forward for tonight plan. Have Yvonne and Yen coming to overnight, have dinner together and perhaps some drink in pub if everyone feeling well. All had been sick upon returning from Cambodia.

That's all.... I am turning my table calender to 2010... new year, new life......

Bangkok Trip: Nov 26-28

This Bangkok Trip was purpitosely to accompany hubby to get his stock particularly in Platinum Mall. So earlier, we had booked a hotel in centre of Pratunam, called CItin Pratunam Hotel.

We departed from home about 12 pm and reach KLIA about 1pm. We gotta checked in once arrived and headed to Premium lounge for lunch. Our flight was schedule at 3.15pm but was delayed to 4. 55 pm. Sigh.... what to do... we tot travelled by MAS should be better but still ..Mesti Ada Salah....

By the time we reached SUVARNABHUMI airport, its already dark. From the previous experience in Hong Kong and Macau, I had the hotel map & direction printed in Thai but yet the Taxi driver found it hard to locate our hotel. After a few wrong turned and got direction from good samaritans, we finally managed to checked in our hotel.

From the suggestion I had in internet, I had listed a few "must go" restaurant in Bangkok. During the journey to hotel, I've spotted this restaurant name "Once upon a time" nearby our hotel, so we decided to get there by foot.

The ambience there were sooooo nice and they did had a tropical forest deco

Hubby was hungry but luckily the food served quite fast.

Our mineral water was served in this silver bowl.

Green curry squid. So nice with the taste of curry leaves and some unknown spice... heheh

The Thai Tom Yum Sea Food. Something like the Poh Tet I once had in Kajang. The difference with the local Tom Yum I had is this Thai's served with Coconut milk aka santan.

My favourite: Thab Thim Krob aka water chessnut with red ruby. Thick of coconut milk. Cant have much though

The main entrance of Once Upon A Time

Since it was already late, we just planned to watched the lady boy show nearby. Suggestion from internet was Calypso Cabarette lady boy show. The map showed the location was rather near so we planned to get there by foot. Well, we got lost few times and thanks to some good samaritans, we managed to arrive just on time. But, never trust the map!!!

We paid THB120/ pax to get into the show with complimentory 1 drink each. But honestly, the show was fabulous. To give these lady boy some justice, they are real performers. After watched the show, both hubby and I were impressed with their performance despites of their beauty......

These were real guys......

Isn't she look beautiful?

They did lined up for photography at the end of the show.

The second morning, we woke up at 9 am and went straight to Pratunam market. Just need a 5 mins walk. We found the goods sold there were not really our taste, so we thought of going Platinum Mall. The problem occured, where no one understand English and we could not get our direction to the mall.
A tut tut driver approached us and told us the Mall won't open until 11 am. He suggested to take us round the place for a 5bath / pax charges. In returned he'll take us to shopping at some complex. We gotta lingered at the place about 15 mins and he can get free gasoline. Well, we tot since Platinum still not on business, so we agreed. At the end, we were brought to 2 wholesales of gold smith. What the F**k!!!!! The shop were smaller than 200 sq ft, and he expected us to spend 15 mins there. After some arguement, we offered him 50 bath to send us to Platinum mall. Yet, he tricked us by stopping at some valley that need another 15 mins walk. Sigh......
On the way to the mall, we were soooo hungry and just stopped by a restaurant and ordered some noodle.

Thai BBQ sausages

Coconut milk pudding- kuih talam

After that, we went to Platinum mall and spend almost the whole day there. We asked around and the mall actually open on 9 am..... shit!!!! About 5 pm, we departed back to hotel and got a tuk tuk to Chinatown for FOOD..... heheheh

Crab meat fried rice... yummy

Clay pot fish maw

Fresh oyster.....

BBQ prawn... big ones

Bird nest in rock sugar

Gingko
Next day, we went to Chatuchak by train, and had brunch there.

Some kind of pork rice but taste awful and fatty.....

Roasted pork rice..... not nice also

Accidentally met my friend in Bangkok!!! What a coincidence!!!!

Stuff inChatuchak also not really appealling, so we departed back to Platinum Mall and get more stuff......
About 3 pm, we got back to hotel and stopped by a stall nearby for food.

After that, we had our flight back to KL....... that's the end of our Bangkok trip.....
