Honeymoon, Day 5

Hong Kong Trip, Day 5, Oct 4, Sunday

Since we did not have enough of Dim Sum, hubby and I decided to visit another restaurant for Dim Sum. The hotel bell boy recommended us Hoover Restaurant, opposite our hotel. Damn him!!!! All the Dim Sum we ordered were sucks. I had paid so much of hope for the Kun Tong Kao and end up so disappointed.

We then headed back to hotel and got to Fa Yuen Street, aka Sport Shoe Street by hotel shuttle. It was rather early and the shops still close. So we wondered around and since I love flower, we went to the flower market by just reading the map. We managed to get there and for the first time of my life I saw so many varieties of fresh tulips. On the way to the flower market, we passed through the gold fish street and a cosmetic shop named Angel. Hubby purchased a DKNY perfumed while I indulged myself in lots of eye mask & hello kitty travelling kit. We walked through Ladies street to return to Fa Yuen Street and hubby bought 2 mini bus model. We shopped for a while at these sport shoes shops to compare their prices and found out they are almost similar. So we ended up buying at one of the earliest shop we went to get my Nike Refresh 3 while I can’t remember hubby’s shoe….. ehheeh. After that we went back to hotel to leave our purchases and returned to Mongkok station by shuttle.

We went along to Yao Tong station and walked about 20 mins to Lei Yue Mun where it is a village famous for fresh seafood. There were a lot of shops selling fresh seafood and restaurant around. We wondered around and end up choosing one restaurant with more customers. Since it was already 3 pm, not many customers were eating. Before we entered the restaurant, a seller opposite the shop asked us to choose the seafood before going in. So we selected a crab, geoduck and some sea snail. We were quite shocked when she told us that they has their own restaurant but its alright if we wanted to eat elsewhere. Upon getting in to the initial restaurant we aimed, only we realized that they were from different people and we will be charged differently as well. There will be extra charges for bringing in outside food, sigh…. Stupid me!!!!

Somehow, the foods were fabulous. All were fresh so we ordered the crab to be steamed, sea snail to be boiled and geoduck to be shashimied and pepper stir fried. This cost us HKD 825!!!! I would say it worth of taste and experiences!! In returned, they gave us fish soup for free. After we done with the exclusive tea time, we asked the permission to take some photos and only we noticed that this restaurant owned more varieties of seafood! Stupider me!!!

We went straight to Causeway Bay after departing from Lei Yue Mun. Over there, we seek for the shop called Bonjour as one of my colleagues, Jaime requested me to buy a perfume. Somehow, I did not buy her perfume but crazily shopped for mask and hair accessories. I spent more than HKD 500 in less than 15 mins there. After that, we found something interesting by the shop nearby. They had this small wrap like Chinese dumpling but bit different. When took a closer look, they were actually crabs. Crabs that full of roes. They called it ‘tai chab hai’. It’s so tempting but I have nowhere to cook so just forget about it.

Short while I started to feel hungry. That Lei Yue Mun feast did not satisfied our tummy. So we went to this dessert shop where I ordered a bowl of black sesame porridge and hubby get a chicken egg with lin zhi. Mine was nice but hubby doesn’t really like his.

It was lucky for us that we accidentally found this Abeerdeen Seafood at Temple Street. I looked for food recommendation blogs before this trip for Abeerdeen’s seafood restaurant but not much of info gathered. We were just trying out our luck at Temple street for all those fried clams and snails. Some funny stuff happened here where we were asked for drinks after we ordered our food. Both of us rejected beer and asked for tea instead. The waitress brought us a jar of tea with two glasses. We started drinking the tea until we saw the next table washed their utensils with the tea!!!! After that we instantly ordered a bottle of Saint Miguel. It tasted less bitter than Carlbergs or Heneiken. After a cup, I started to feel hot and laughed like no one’s business. Hubby was rather worried but we still managed to go home safely. The food was ok except the snail. You just have to eat the meat without the stuff attached to the meat. They were all the shells, sands and soil that the cook did not clean it up. The prawn was nice but it would be better if we ordered the bigger ones, at least won’t waste too much of your time plucking one by one with so little of meat.

Before we went back to hotel, I stopped by Hui Lau San and purchased another Mango Mochi and Mango Pudding. God! It was fabulous!!!!!!! Besides, we also bought some cup noodles from a nearby convenient shop to smuggle it into Disneyland. That night, I did a lot of packing instead before check in to Disneyland tomorrow.
