By the time we woke up and had breakfast, its already 10 am. We decided to try out some Char Chan Teng food so we looked for a nearby café named Lisa Fast food. Both my and hubby’s choices were bad. I asked for luncheon meat toast while hubby ate instant noodle with egg & preserved vege. Very no no
We took MTR from Mongkok to Tung Chung. We bought 2 tickets to Ngong Ping 360 & Giant Buddha via normal cable car. It took us at least an hour and a half from queuing up to purchase tickets until we got to the village. We were so hungry and end up in this Zen Noodle House. Hubby ordered a Gyoza Ramen and it tasted bad.
After watching the ‘Walking with Buddha’ and ‘Monkey’s Tale Theather’ we headed to Po Lin Monastery. Hubby insisted to climb up to the top since we were already there. It took us a lot of courage to climb up as both of us had stopped exercising for quite some times. Upon getting down, we were so tired and went for a rest at this “Tak Kei Café” which sell tidbits such as san sui tau fu fah (soybean custard), meatballs, chicken wings and fishball. We ordered two san sui tau fu fah and it tasted soooo good. I never adored ginger but this custard was added with ginger sugar. It do not have the pungent smell like normal ginger did. Thumbs up!
After returning to Tung Chung MTR, we took a train headed to Tsuen Wan and changed to bus 38M going to Sam Tseng. There we found the famous Sham Tseng Chan Kee Roasted Goose. Quite costly, a quarter of roasted goose cost HKD 120 but the portion was rather big. We ordered another Chan Kee mixed pot (HKD 80) where it has fresh scallop, sea cucumber, fish maw, goose feet, prawn and chicken/ duck wings. Tasty! They also gave us San sui tau fu fah for free. Beware of some cons restaurant having almost the same name as Chan Kee….
About 7.30 pm, we went back to Tsim Tsa Tsui for Symphony of Light shows. While waiting, we took the opportunity to take photos at the Stars of Avenue. Not really interested in these statues and palm mold, but since we were there, so might as well took some photos for remembrance
At last, we reached Yao Guat Hei. Since Hong Kong is celebrating Mid Autumn festival, so the charges increased to HKD 98 /pax. We ordered pork bone soup base as recommended. High possibility that we were full and too tired from the day activities, we did not have much appetite to eat. Besides, their buffet servings were too small. They served when you ordered but in a very small portion. After three times of ordering, we turned lazy and irritated with the portion. Something nice to recommend here is their goose intestine. Crunchy though.
